The Parable of the Searching Shepherd

Listen to Pastor Dan’s sermon based on the parable of the Searching Shepherd from Luke 15:1-7.

* do to a technical error, this recording begins shortly after the beginning of the sermon. The following text is that was missed:

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen.

There was a shepherd who had a beautiful pasture, a garden, for his sheep. Everything those sheep needed they had. There was thick, lush green grass that provided the softest bed on which to lie down and rest. Those same green grasses on which they slept also provided the very best of food. The waters gently flowed off the high mountain where the shepherd lived with the purest waters in which the sheep could sip cool drinks of refreshing water. The sheep could easily hear the shepherd’s voice and gladly followed the shepherd wherever he went because he was their shepherd. He wanted nothing but the absolute best for them and when the sheep where with the shepherd, it was truly good. The shepherd could even walk the sheep through the dark and dangerous valleys where evil lay all around, with safety, things were that good. Everything was right; everything was good — very good.

But sheep are stupid and dumb. They are the epitome of Attention Deficit Disorder, wandering here and there.
