NUTS – Never Underestimate The Spirit!

NUTS is our high school ministry, open for youth in grades 10 through 12. We have weekly hang outs from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday nights all year long.  We also meet on Sunday Mornings from 9:30-10:45 during the school year.  We use  this time to catch up and to tackle tough questions about life and faith. The primary purpose of the NUTS ministry is “to ignite, nurture and equip Christ-centered youth.”

Throughout the year, there are various events to be involved in, from serving Easter breakfast to pizza sales for our annual ski trip, state level youth gatherings to canoe trips and lock-ins. A highlight is always our July trip to Sonshine Christian Music Festival, five days of camping, music, building friendship, and enjoy being together.

LCMS Youth Gathering

national-youth-gatheringEvery 3 Years, OSLC sends youth and chaperoning adults to the LCMS National Youth Gathering. In Summer 2016, THOUSANDS gathered in New Orleans for the LCMS National Youth Gathering.  This event has regularly been an extremely significant point in the faith development of young people in the LCMS.  Workshops on real-life topics, crazy games and activities, and massive worship events.  OSLC sent a group of youth and adults to chaperone and take the whole experience in.  Contact Pastor Andy if you have any questions or are interesting in attending an LCMS Youth Gathering in the future.
