Meet Brittany Busch as she gives a quick overview of our Children’s Ministry Program at OSLC!

Watch a video from your new Children’s Ministry Director, Nancy Graham, and learn about her and about this year’s Sunday School and GLo programs!

Sunday School

The Sunday School program at OSLC is designed to supplement the faith development of children age 4 through grade 12 that is being done by their parents. We seek to find the best age-appropriate lessons that are available to instruct your child(ren) about Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, the history of God in the lives of humanity (the Bible’s big story), and how that is lived out in every day life.

Classes meet on Sunday mornings from September to May. Children age 4 to Grade 6 will be escorted by their teachers to room 108 for a 10-15 minute opening before returning to their classrooms until 10:45AM. Grades 7 to 12 are in their classrooms from 9:30 to 10:45AM each Sunday Morning from the first Sunday after Labor Day through Mothers’ Day.

We are always looking for adults who are willing to serve in this ministry, whether helping to fill in for regular teachers who just need a morning off or as a classroom assistant, to full-time volunteer teachers who are willing to invest their lives in the lives of the children of our church family.

Get excited! Get pumped! Get up! and GLo!
Wednesday nights, from 6:00-7:30PM, kids ages 4 to Grade 6 are invited to join us for an evening packed with fun activities centered around the Gospel. We are going back to the beginning! Kids will be immersed in the Gospel through the stories from Genesis to Revelation. We want kids to know the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story of redemption through Jesus Christ!

Registration begins at 5:50. After kids are signed in by an adult at registration, they head to the Great Room (just down the hall) for some snacks and time to greet their friends and leaders. Then they’ll head to the Sanctuary, where we’ll join for a short time with the rest of the Wednesday night community in some praise songs, and occasionally a special message. Afterwards we split into two groups (by age), one will do a craft based on the lesson, and the second will watch a short video on the Bible story as it connects with Jesus. And then have a discussion about it.
At 7:00 we’re offering an “early-bird” dismissal for those who need to get home a little early
ALL kids are welcome to stay for IMPACT (Informing Many People About Christ Together), an extension of GLo. From 7:00-7:30 through games, play, and service, kids will develop a sense of community both inside and outside the church.

GLo runs September to May.

Vacation Bible School

Each June we host an outreach to the children of the community through our Vacation Bible School program. For this week, we transform our church to a different theme to draw them into hearing and experiencing the Good News of Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We offer a free meal to help busy parents for the children and the parents each evening. Then the children experience a high energy opening, crafts, games, and bible lessons before coming together once more for an exciting closing. Our VBS program is not what you grew up with – YOU’VE GOT TO COME CHECK IT OUT!

Children’s Ministry Team

Do you have a passion for the children of our church family? This is a great place to serve as part of the leadership team that plans our Sunday School and GLo curriculums, our Vacation Bible School program, our Christmas program, and other events throughout the year.

Confirmation Team

The mission of confirmation is to provide the youth of OSLC with a meaningful Christian education experience, touching their hearts with the person of Jesus Christ. Members of the Confirmation Team serve as confirmation teachers; serve as small group guides; serve as classroom aides; serve as servant event coordinators; share their stories of faith with the youth; and pray for youth and adults participating in confirmation.

Small Group Ministries

Why do we encourage you to join a small group? Because you will build life-supporting friendships and meet others from OSLC; give and receive love and encouragement; pray and be prayed for; grow in your faith and discover ways to become more like Christ; and serve others in your group, in the congregation, and in the community.

One of our small group formats is called Transformation Triangles. This is a great way to get started because you can just get together with two other friends and begin meeting right away. It’s simple and transformational!

You may join an already established small group, or start one of your own. Contact Bonnie Rennich at 701.852.6404 or for more information.
