Worship Services

  • Our Savior Lutheran Church worship services will continue online at 9:30 a.m. through Sunday, May 24.
  • Starting May 31, we will resume our 8:15, 9:30, and 11:00 worship services.  These will follow the same form as they did prior to the COVID-19 isolation, but will not include Communion (more details below).
  • Those attending the 8:15 service will be ushered into the sanctuary upon arrival at the church.  They will be seated in the middle right section (middle left from the pulpit).  Every other row will be taped off, and each family unit will be distanced from one another.
  • After the 8:15 service, the seats that were occupied will be sanitized in preparation for the 11:00 service, should those seats be needed at that time.  Overflow at 8:15 will be placed into the front rows of each section (or in the fellowship hall), and 11:00 worshippers will be discouraged from using those seats unless necessary.
  • At the 9:30 service, half of the chairs will be available for worshippers (the other half being taped off), who will be ushered directly to their seats.  Each family unit will be distanced from one another.
  • At the 11:00 service, the other half of the chairs will be available for worshippers (the 9:30 chairs will be taped off), who will be ushered directly to their seats.  Each family unit will be distanced from one another.
  • There will be no handshaking, and fellowshipping in the building (outside of worship) is discouraged at this time.  Bulletins will be available on the chairs in the sanctuary, and will be disposed of after each service (or taken home by worshippers).
  • Prior to May 31, and after May 31 worship, the sanctuary and fellowship area will be sanitized by professionals. We will likely continue to do this through June, at the least. Church members/leaders will do the sanitizing on Sunday morning.
  • Individuals who are at-risk, beginning to feel unwell, or who are not well are strongly encouraged to worship using the online options available to you.

Holy Communion

  • Communion will resume on May 31, but outside of corporate worship.  The plan is to have Communion set up in the fellowship hall, allowing single families to commune together.  We will have a window of time set up on Sunday afternoons when families can come to the church to receive Communion.  Our time slot will be 2-4 in the afternoon.  We will commune on May 31, June 7, and June 21.
  • Wine will be delivered in plastic cups that will be disposed of immediately following each Communion.  We will use clean, disposable methods for delivering the host as well.  After each family, the area will be sanitized.
  • We will make every effort to discourage unnecessary touching of any surfaces in the course of this practice.
  • While we cannot be certain, it is possible that this will be our Communion practice for several weeks.  The plan is to offer it two Sundays per month.

Bible Studies and Meetings

  • As we will now be gathering in the building once again for worship (on May 31), it makes sense that we would begin studying the Bible together again as well.  We believe our strategy here should be the same as our strategy for Communion.  When it is advisable for us to commune as part of our worship again, we can resume in-person meetings.
  • The various studies that have happened via Zoom should continue to do so, for now.  The Sunday morning study on John’s Gospel will be taking some time off as we transition to physical worship and communion, with plans to resume on June 21.

Worship (Sundays at 9:30 a.m.) will be held via Facebook Live and later shared on OSLC’s YouTube Channel. Please call the office at 701-852-6404 (office hours: mon-fri 9am-1pm), email the office or check our Facebook page or website for further updates.
